Bypass filter systems with integrated oil condition monitoring

Every hydraulic system suffers from contamination. Consequences include defective seals, wear, undesirable chemical processes, heat generation, poor lubrication, abrasion, accelerated oil aging, contaminated filters, etc.

This leads to frequent oil and filter changes, increased downtime, decreasing productivity, more frequent repairs, and thus rising costs. 80% of all machine failures are caused by contaminated oil.

Our bypass filter systems for filtration and analysis of hydraulic oil enable you to filter contaminants such as particles, water, and oil aging products from your hydraulic systems during ongoing operation. A consistently high level of purity is achieved for your systems. Integration occurs in the bypass, meaning there is no downtime for your systems.

Bypass filter systems

Thanks to our many years of experience, we know what matters. That is why we have developed various bypass filter systems that are mobile, flexible, and meet the highest demands.

Both series are equipped as standard with an oil drip pan, check valves, level switches, flow monitors, differential pressure switches, and breathers.

FFA Series

The FFA series is built on a platform trolley and is primarily designed for mobile use, e.g., in factory halls, etc. Depending on requirements, various flow rates and sensors can be selected. All analysis data can optionally be transmitted to any workstation via a cloud connection.

FFS Series

The FFS series is designed in a hand truck format and has been optimized for outdoor use and rough terrain. Additionally, the FFS series can be combined with the OAC (Oil Analysis Case), as it is a pure filter unit. With the OAC, you can perform oil analyses or determine filter utilization.

The following equipment variants are configurable:

  • Additional OAC connection
  • 2 or 6 l/min

Oil condition analyses with the Oil Analysis Case (OAC)

Particle and water content, oil aging status of the medium, and filter fill level are continuously monitored. Depending on the application area of the fluids, certain threshold values can be set to receive corresponding messages and/or alarms in case of deviations. Costly oil analyses become superfluous.

The analysis data, warnings, and malfunctions are displayed and documented on the OAC’s touch display and optionally in the BFH Cloud. Via your smartphone, tablet, or PC, you have control anytime, anywhere you want.

By combining the OAC with a BFH fine filter system, the monitored systems are cleaned of particles, water, and oil aging products. The OAC detects whether the filter system is working correctly, is connected, and how contaminated the filter is. You will know in good time if and what measures are necessary.
